Chauhan’s knock, which featured 15 fours and two sixes, was supported by a vital 132-run partnership for the third wicket with VK Vineeth. Earlier, Aaryavir Sehwag provided a solid start at the top of the order, chipping in with 47 runs from 48 balls.
Although India lost Vineeth in the 40th over with the score at 233 for 3, the momentum remained with the hosts. Blake Cattle attempted to keep the chase alive with 44 off 46 balls, but the lower order failed to provide necessary support. Australia lost their final six wickets for just 38 runs, eventually being bowled out for 238 in 41.1 overs. Chigurupati Venkata led the Indian bowling attack with 3 for 64, while Chauhan capped off a stellar all-round display by taking 2 for 56. Patel was particularly effective, conceding only 23 runs in his seven-over spell to claim 2 wickets, while Mohit Ulva chipped in with 1 for 19.
