Rwanda chase falters under pressure
Facing a target of 199, Rwanda needed a strong start but immediately found themselves under pressure after losing an early wicket. While Isae Niyomugabo attempted to anchor the innings with a patient 38 off 43 balls, and Didier Ndikubwimana provided some resistance, the required run rate proved insurmountable. The turning point of the chase arrived when Cosmas Kyewuta dismissed Hamza Khan, effectively breaking the back of the Rwandan middle order and shifting the momentum firmly in Uganda's favour.
Kyewuta finished his spell with impressive figures of 3/20 from his three overs, capping off a day where he also contributed a rapid 18 off just 4 balls with the bat. The Rwandan innings eventually folded for 134 all out. Alongside Kyewuta’s heroics, Joseph Baguma and Matthew Musinguzi played key roles in dismantling the opposition lineup, ensuring that Uganda comfortably defended their total to seal a convincing win in the tournament.
