England fast bowler Ollie Robinson has etched his name into the history books, becoming the first player in over a century to maintain a Test bowling average of under 19 after reaching the 20-match milestone. The achievement, confirmed during the third Test against Pakistan at Edgbaston, places the seamer in an exclusive statistical bracket that has remained untouched since the era of Sydney Barnes in 1914.

Robinson’s career tally moved to 104 wickets from 24 Tests following a productive spell against Pakistan, bringing his career average to 18.86. This performance marks a significant statistical benchmark, as he is the first bowler to reach this level of efficiency after a minimum of 20 appearances since Barnes concluded his legendary career with an average of 16.43.
