Mithali Raj, who retired in 2022, had previously held the record outright. Following the pair on the all-time list are England’s Charlotte Edwards with 80, New Zealand’s Suzie Bates with 79, and both Stafanie Taylor and Laura Wolvaardt with 74.
A record-breaking century and new milestones
After reaching the landmark, Mandhana shifted gears to produce one of the most destructive innings of her T20I career. She accelerated rapidly, needing only 17 additional deliveries to convert her fifty into a century, reaching the triple-figure mark in just 57 balls. This achievement made her the first Indian woman to record two centuries in the T20I format, following her previous 112-run knock against England at Trent Bridge in 2025.
By the time she was dismissed in the final over, Mandhana had amassed 124 runs from 64 balls, an innings punctuated by 14 fours and seven sixes. This performance set a new benchmark for the highest individual score in the history of the Women's T20 Asia Cup, eclipsing the 119 not out scored by Chamari Athapaththu against Malaysia in 2024. Furthermore, this century brought Mandhana’s total international century count to 18, moving her past Meg Lanning and Laura Wolvaardt, who each have 17.
Dominance with Shafali Verma
The match also highlighted the prolific nature of the opening partnership between Mandhana and Shafali Verma. The duo added another 50-plus stand, marking their 29th such partnership in T20Is—the most by any pair in the format's history. They sit well ahead of UAE’s Esha Oza and Theertha Satish, who have 23, and Australia’s Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney, who have 20.
Across all international formats, the pair has now combined for 44 partnerships of 50 or more, surpassing the 37 recorded by New Zealand’s Sophie Devine and Suzie Bates. Additionally, Mandhana extended her lead at the top of the list for the most 50-plus scores in women's T20Is, moving to 37, four clear of Australia's Beth Mooney.
