Coaching Staff Optimistic About Pant's Return
In a post-match press conference, India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak expressed optimism regarding Pant's condition, stating that he is expected to return for the following day’s play. "I think he will be fine to continue tomorrow," Kotak remarked, providing reassurance to fans and teammates alike about Pant's potential recovery.
Padikkal's Century Propels India Forward
Despite the setback of Pant's injury and the loss of wickets, Devdutt Padikkal emerged as a standout performer for India, scoring a resilient 117 runs. His innings helped the team reach a total of 300 for 5 at stumps on the opening day. Dhruv Jurel remained not out on 7, while debutant Saransh Jain contributed 4 runs as play concluded.
