2026 NFL Offseason Trade Updates: Latest on Preseason Transactions

The NFL landscape is rapidly evolving as teams prepare for the 2026 season, with significant trades reshaping rosters across the league. As the regular season approaches, several high-profile transactions have already taken place, including two major trades on June 1 that have garnered considerable attention.

Major Trades Reshape Team Dynamics

In a stunning move, the Cleveland Browns have traded star edge rusher Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams. This deal, which is being hailed as one of the most significant trades involving a defensive player in NFL history, sees the Browns receiving edge rusher Jared Verse along with multiple draft picks: a first-round selection in 2027, a second-round pick in 2028, and a third-round pick in 2029. Garrett, a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, is expected to bolster the Rams' defense significantly.

Another blockbuster trade involved wide receiver A.J. Brown, who is heading to the New England Patriots from the Philadelphia Eagles. In exchange, the Eagles will receive a first-round draft pick in 2028 and a fifth-round pick in 2027, which will be the better of New England's selections. This trade reunites Brown with Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, providing quarterback Drake Maye with a top-tier target as the team looks to enhance its receiving corps.

Additional Transactions Impacting Team Strategies

In other notable trades, the New Orleans Saints have sent veteran linebacker Deion Jones to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for running back Zamir White. This move is part of the Saints' strategy to strengthen their roster while addressing depth issues at key positions.

The New York Giants have also made a strategic trade, sending guard Daniel Faalele to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a late-round pick in the 2027 draft. Faalele, who had been competing for a starting role, will now join a Jaguars team in need of offensive line support due to recent injuries.

Furthermore, the Kansas City Chiefs traded offensive tackle Wanya Morris to the Atlanta Falcons, who are looking to bolster their tackle depth following the retirement of Kaleb McGary. The Chiefs received a sixth-round pick in 2027 and a seventh-round pick in the deal.

As the NFL continues to see a flurry of trades, teams are actively working to refine their rosters ahead of the upcoming season, setting the stage for an exciting year of football.
