In a surprising move, Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant has publicly reached out to Uttarakhand's Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, seeking assistance in acquiring land in his home state. The 28-year-old wicketkeeper-batter, currently in Sri Lanka for a Test series, took to social media platform X to express his desire to relocate from Delhi and establish his first home in Uttarakhand.

Pant's heartfelt appeal, which he directed at Dhami, detailed his ongoing struggle over the past three years to find suitable land in Uttarakhand. He emphasized his longing to return to his roots and contribute positively to the state that he holds dear. In his post, Pant wrote, “I have been trying to buy land to shift my base from Delhi to Uttarakhand and I couldn’t find anything facilitating and big to live here. I love my Uttarakhand.” He urged the Chief Minister to assist him in navigating the complexities of land acquisition, which he described as a “nightmare.”

In his message, Pant clarified that he is not seeking a free gift of land but is willing to purchase it at government rates. He expressed his desire to build a home in Uttarakhand, stating, “A gift would be lovely for representation at the highest level internationally, but if you allow me, I want to buy it from the government.” His request has garnered significant attention online, with many fans and followers rallying behind his cause.

Born in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, Pant's cricketing journey began in his native state before he moved to Delhi to pursue his professional career.
