Oman chase falls short under pressure
Chasing 281 for victory, Oman faced an early setback, losing a wicket before the innings could gain significant momentum. Jatinder Singh led the resistance for the hosts, crafting a resilient 89 off 114 balls. Alongside support from Hammad Mirza, Oman stayed in the hunt for much of the chase, but the required run rate and Nepal’s tight bowling eventually proved insurmountable.
The turning point of the match arrived when Singh Airee struck with the ball, trapping Mujibur Ali lbw. This breakthrough proved decisive in stalling Oman’s progress. Singh Airee finished his 10-over spell with figures of 2/60, complementing his earlier batting heroics to earn the Player of the Match award. Despite the efforts of Faisal and Jay Odedra, Oman could only manage 270/7, falling just 10 runs short of the target as Nepal held their nerve to close out the game.
