The selection process for the contingent concluded following rigorous trials held at the National Centre of Excellence in Guwahati between September 18 and 21. These trials were conducted under the strict oversight of the Badminton Association of India’s (BAI) Junior Selection Committee to ensure a fair and competitive selection process for all participants.
Tournament Path and Preparation
The competition begins with the
BAI General Secretary Sanjay Mishra expressed optimism regarding the team's prospects, noting that the players are carrying significant momentum from their recent performances at the U17 Asian Championships. To ensure the team is fully prepared for the challenges in Cairo, the players will participate in a dedicated training camp at the National Centre of Excellence in Guwahati from September 25 to October 2.
Squad Composition and Scoring Formats
The squad features a blend of experienced campaigners and rising talent. Joining Patri and Manimuthu in the girls' singles category are Parul Choudhary and Tanvi Reddy Andluri. The boys' singles lineup includes India Junior International Grand Prix winner Dev Ruparelia, alongside Nishchal Chand, Jagsher Singh Khangurra, and Akhil Reddy Bobba.
The doubles categories are equally well-represented. In girls' doubles, Aanya Bisht and Angel Punera—both veterans of last year’s medal-winning team—will compete alongside Diya Bheemaiah B. and Baruni Parshwal. The boys' doubles pairs consist of Aathish Sreenivas P.V. with Yogansh Singh, and Pavan Suresh with Punith Suresh. The mixed doubles challenge will be handled by the pairings of Divyansh Agrawal with Varna Prabhuanand, and Yogansh Singh with Aanya Bisht.
The tournament will feature distinct scoring formats this year as per BWF Council regulations. The Suhandinata Cup team event will utilize the 3x55 relay scoring system, while the individual Eye Level Cups, running from October 11 to 17, will follow the 3x15 scoring system.
