Valentin Vacherot Sets Up Swiss Indoors Final Clash Against Jiri Lehecka

Valentin Vacherot has advanced to the final of the Swiss Indoors in Basel, marking his first championship appearance of the 2026 season. The representative from Monaco secured his place in the title match with a composed straight-sets victory over the sixth-seeded Taylor Fritz, finishing the contest 7-6 (5), 6-3 on Saturday.

This achievement represents only the second time in his career that Vacherot has reached a tour-level final. His previous experience in a championship match came last year when he claimed the title at the Shanghai Masters. By overcoming the American challenger, Vacherot has positioned himself for a chance to add another trophy to his collection in Sunday's final.

Lehecka Advances to Meet Vacherot

Standing in Vacherot's way is the eighth-seeded Jiri Lehecka. The Czech player earned his spot in the final after a hard-fought comeback victory against Germany's Jan-Lennard Struff. Despite dropping the opening set, Lehecka rallied to win the match 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.

Struff entered the semifinal stage with momentum, having notably eliminated Novak Djokovic earlier in the tournament on Thursday. However, he was unable to sustain that form against Lehecka, who managed to turn the tide in the second and third sets to keep his tournament hopes alive. The final showdown between Vacherot and Lehecka is set to take place on Sunday, concluding a week of competitive tennis in Basel.
