Chagall, Enrich and New Star headlined a productive morning of track work on Sunday, October 11, as several horses were put through their paces on the inner sand track. The session provided a clear look at the current fitness levels of the contenders as they prepared for their next competitive outings.
Among the notable performers, Chagall, ridden by Kirtish, produced an attractive display over 800 metres, clocking 49 seconds with a final 600-metre split of 37 seconds. The effort was one of the most eye-catching of the morning, signalling strong preparation.
Key performances on the inner sand
In the 1000-metre gallops, Enrich, with Suraj Narredu in the saddle, looked in good condition, recording a time of 1:07, including an 800-metre split of 52 seconds and a 600-metre finish of 40 seconds. Regal Warrior also caught the eye over the same distance, clocking 1:04 with an 800-metre time of 50 seconds and a 600-metre split of 38 seconds, showing a more urgent pace.
New Star, partnered with Gunsmoke, completed a 1200-metre exercise in 1:23. New Star strode out well throughout the gallop, eventually finishing three lengths clear of Gunsmoke. Other notable 1000-metre efforts included Invictor, who clocked 1:07, and the pair of Acropolis and Zuniga, who moved level and freely to finish in 1:08.
Additional training updates
Several other runners completed steady work during the session. Over the 800-metre distance, Zephyr moved nicely in 51 seconds, while Sussing clocked 52 seconds. Zayyan and Arrived also completed their respective exercises with ease, recording times of 54 and 56 seconds respectively.
In the longer 1200-metre category, Rosario moved well to clock 1:24, while Lady Scarlet worked at a high tempo from the 1200-metre mark to the 600-metre pole before easing down in the straight. Bee Magical rounded out the morning's notable work with a free-moving effort over 1200 metres, finishing in 1:26.
