In the women's wrestling category, India claimed the second position with a total of 184 points, narrowly missing the top spot to China, which finished with 189 points. Japan trailed in third place with 142 points. Leading the Indian contingent were gold medalists Parveen (50kg), Muskan (53kg), and Kajal (76kg), who each delivered outstanding performances. Parveen dominated her match against Uzbekistan's Shokhista Shonazarova, winning decisively with a score of 13-2. Muskan secured a close victory over Japan's Mai Ogawa, edging her out 6-5, while Kajal showcased her skills with a commanding 5-0 win against Japan's Mahiru Fujita.
Additionally, Manya Rajput (57kg), Savita (62kg), and Manisha (72kg) earned silver medals after falling to their Chinese opponents in the finals. In the bronze medal matches, Kajal (55kg) achieved a fall victory over Uzbekistan's Sakibjamal Esbosynova, while Komal (59kg) and Mansi Lather (65kg) also secured bronze with impressive performances, blanking their opponents with scores of 12-0 and 13-2, respectively.
Men's Freestyle and Greco-Roman Highlights
The Indian men's freestyle team finished third overall, accumulating 152 points, behind Kazakhstan and Iran, which scored 170 and 164 points, respectively. Sumit Kumar Laxman Bharaskar was the standout performer, clinching the only gold for India in the 70kg category with a thrilling 13-7 victory over Kazakhstan's Sungkar Seidakhmet. Pushp (61kg), Saurabh Yadav (79kg), and Ronak (125kg) each earned silver medals after competitive finals.
The freestyle team also contributed three bronze medals, with Rohit (57kg), Adarsh Yuvraj Patil (74kg), and Lacky (97kg) all securing wins in their respective playoff matches. In the Greco-Roman division, Akshay Rana earned a silver medal in the 97kg category, despite a tough final against Iran's Amirsam Behnam Mohammadi, where he lost 0-8. Neeraj Patel (55kg), Anuj (67kg), and Dheeraj Kumar Malik (67kg) rounded out the medal tally with bronze finishes in their matches. Prior to this event, the Indian team had also excelled at the U-15 Asian Wrestling Championships, amassing 21 medals across three categories, further highlighting the nation's growing strength in wrestling.
