Indian women boxers showcased their exceptional talent on the fifth day of the Asian U-19 and U-23 boxing championships, with six athletes securing spots in the semifinals, thereby guaranteeing themselves medals. The tournament, held in a competitive atmosphere, has positioned India to claim a total of eight medals in the U-19 women's category.

Outstanding Performances in Quarterfinals

Chandrika Bhoresh Pujari, competing in the 51kg weight class, delivered a commanding performance, defeating Kazakhstan's Zhadyra Kaltay with a unanimous 5:0 decision. Similarly, Joyshree Devi (54kg) also achieved a decisive victory, overcoming Kazakhstan's Maral Tolepbergen by the same scoreline. Prachi, fighting in the 57kg category, continued her impressive streak, winning 5:0 against Uzbekistan's Robiya Ravshanova. Chahat (60kg) followed suit, securing a comprehensive 5:0 win over Kazakhstan's Zhasmin Abramyan.

In a closely contested match, Gunjan (48kg) triumphed over Mongolia's Altanzul Altangadas with a narrow 3:2 split decision. Anshika, competing in the 75kg division, added to India's medal tally with a hard-fought 4:1 victory against Kazakhstan's Altyngul Aimukhan. Despite the successes, not all bouts ended in favor of the Indian boxers. Vanshika (65kg) faced a setback, losing to Uzbekistan's Rushanabonu Isoeva by referee stop contest (RSC) in the first round, while Lakshu (70kg) was defeated by Uzbekistan's Maftuna Yangieva with a 5:0 decision.
