San Francisco 49ers receiver De'Zhaun Stribling sidelined by ankle injury against Rams

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling saw his involvement in Thursday night's contest against the Los Angeles Rams cut short after sustaining an ankle injury. The rookie playmaker was forced to exit the game during the second quarter and was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the evening.

The incident occurred midway through the second period during a 49ers offensive possession. Stribling had initially experienced discomfort in his left ankle earlier in the game but had managed to return to the field. However, while running an inside-breaking route, he pulled up abruptly without any contact from opposing defenders. He received immediate medical attention on the field before being assisted to the sideline and eventually transported to the locker room via cart.

Stribling, who did not record a reception during his limited time on the field, was selected by San Francisco with the 33rd overall pick in the second round of April's NFL draft. The former Ole Miss standout had impressed during training camp, earning a significant role within the 49ers' offensive scheme heading into the season. His teammates, including Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel, were present on the field as he was attended to by medical staff before his departure to the locker room.
