Saints left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. ruled out against Ravens with ankle injury

New Orleans Saints left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. saw his afternoon cut short on Sunday after suffering a significant ankle injury during the fourth quarter of the matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. The injury occurred during a critical third-and-19 play, which ultimately ended in a sack of Saints quarterback Tyler Shough.

Following the play, Banks remained on the turf and was seen clutching his left ankle. Medical personnel immediately rushed onto the field to evaluate the 22-year-old lineman. After receiving initial treatment, he was unable to put weight on the leg and was subsequently transported to the locker room via cart, with the team officially ruling him out for the remainder of the contest shortly thereafter.

Following his departure, the Saints turned to veteran lineman Asim Richards to fill the vacancy at left tackle for the ensuing offensive series. Richards, who joined the New Orleans roster during the 2025 preseason, arrived via a trade with the Dallas Cowboys. In that transaction, the Saints acquired Richards and a 2028 seventh-round draft pick in exchange for a 2028 sixth-round selection. The team will now look to evaluate the long-term status of Banks as they navigate the remainder of their schedule.
