Rams Rule Out Puka Nacua for Monday Night Football Clash Against Giants

The Los Angeles Rams will be without wide receiver Puka Nacua for their upcoming Monday Night Football matchup against the New York Giants. The decision to keep the playmaker on the sidelines comes after he was added to the team's injury report late in the week with a hip issue.

Head coach Sean McVay confirmed the status of the receiver, noting that the team is prioritizing caution regarding his health. The injury, which McVay described as involving some soreness in the groin area, kept the player out of practice sessions leading up to the game. McVay clarified that this current setback is unrelated to the psoas injury that sidelined the receiver during the team's training camp period.

Injury Concerns Impact Rams Receiving Corps

The coaching staff's decision to hold the receiver out follows observations from earlier in the week. Although he participated in practice on Thursday, it was noted that he did not appear to be moving at his usual capacity, specifically struggling to reach full speed during drills. McVay emphasized that the organization is choosing to be smart with their skill players to ensure long-term availability.

Nacua had been a focal point of the Rams' passing attack in the season opener, where he recorded five receptions for 74 yards on nine targets. His absence creates a significant void in the offensive rotation for the primetime contest.

In addition to the loss of Nacua, the Rams will also be missing wide receiver Jordan Whittington. Whittington was also added to the injury report on Friday, dealing with a quad injury that has ultimately rendered him inactive for the game against the Giants.
