Leading the charge is Myles Garrett, who enters his 10th professional campaign with 125.5 career sacks, a figure that currently places him in a tie for 20th in league history.

Garrett’s transition to the Los Angeles Rams following a major June trade has intensified the spotlight on his pursuit of the game's legendary defenders. Having secured his second Defensive Player of the Year award last season, the defensive end maintains a remarkable pace, having recorded at least 14 sacks in each of the past five seasons—the longest such streak by any player since 1982. His current trajectory ranks as the second-fastest ascent into the top five all-time, trailing only the legendary Reggie White.

The defensive depth in Los Angeles has received an additional boost with the return of Aaron Donald, who came out of retirement on Sunday to rejoin the Rams' defensive front. Donald currently sits at 111 career sacks, trailing Khalil Mack and Sean Jones by only two. For Garrett, the math is straightforward: maintaining his career average of approximately 14 sacks per season would see him draw level with Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason Taylor at seventh all-time. Should he exceed that production and reach 18.5 sacks this year, he would establish a new record for the most sacks over a two-season span since 1982.
