Newly released
The Hobart/Lawrence Police Department made the records public on Friday night in response to a request, providing further context to the legal challenges facing the NFL star. The disclosures include specific accounts from three women who alleged they were subjected to physical altercations with the running back between 2021 and 2023, citing patterns of behavior they felt mirrored the circumstances of the May 23 arrest.
Details of the allegations and legal context
One woman reported an incident from January 2022, alleging that Jacobs became aggressive after she declined sexual advances. She claimed he slapped her, threw her phone into a swimming pool, and physically restrained her while making verbal threats. She stated she had not reported the event previously due to her ongoing friendship with the player and fears regarding her credibility. A second woman alleged that in April 2021, Jacobs pushed her against a wall and discarded her belongings after a disagreement regarding health precautions. While police noted that officers at the time did not observe visible injuries, the woman reported suffering from bruising and swelling.
A third woman, who met the player via social media in May 2022, alleged that he dragged her by her hair and caused scratches to her chest and neck. She claimed she did not report the incident at the time due to concerns about her immigration status and alleged threats made by Jacobs regarding deportation. These reports were included in the evidence file alongside further details of the May 2023 incident, in which the complainant alleged that Jacobs pinned her down and obstructed her breathing before she was thrown to the ground in a garage.
NFL investigation and team status
The release of these records comes as the NFL continues its own investigation into the May arrest. Jacobs, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, was previously placed on the commissioner's exempt list in August, which sidelined him for the first six games of the current season. He has since returned to the field and played two games for the Packers following his removal from the list. Despite the resolution of the criminal case, the league maintains the authority to impose further disciplinary action against the running back pending the outcome of its internal review.
