Cleveland Browns rookie wide receiver KC Concepcion has been ruled out for the remainder of the team's contest against the New York Jets after suffering a head injury during the first quarter. The incident occurred at MetLife Stadium during the Browns' second offensive drive of the game.

The injury took place as Concepcion attempted to secure a catch, resulting in a helmet-to-helmet collision with Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Following the impact, the receiver also struck his head against the turf. Medical personnel from the Cleveland staff attended to the rookie on the field for several minutes before assisting him to his feet. He was escorted directly to the locker room, and the team confirmed his status shortly thereafter.

Illegal hit leads to early exit

Officials penalized Fitzpatrick on the play for a hit on a defenseless receiver. The loss of the rookie wideout is a significant blow for the Cleveland offense, as the first-round pick had established himself as a key contributor early in his debut season.

Entering the Week 5 matchup, Concepcion had been a focal point of the Browns' passing attack. The No. 24 overall selection in the 2026 draft arrived at the game tied for the team lead with 17 receptions and ranked third in total receiving yards with 144. His absence leaves the Cleveland receiving corps shorthanded for the duration of the game against New York.
