The New England Patriots faced further personnel setbacks during Sunday's matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, losing two key contributors to injury within the span of just three plays. Running back TreVeyon Henderson and starting left tackle Will Campbell were both forced from the field during the first half and were officially ruled out for the remainder of the contest by the middle of the third quarter.

The sequence of events began early in the second quarter when Henderson, who has served as a vital complement to lead back Rhamondre Stevenson, sustained an ankle injury. The running back was injured at the conclusion of an 11-yard carry after being tackled near the sideline by Raiders safety Jeremy Chinn. Henderson, who entered the game with 141 rushing yards and a touchdown on the season, was unable to return to action.

Personnel challenges mount for New England

The situation worsened just two plays later when Campbell, the team's starting left tackle, went down with a right knee injury. The incident occurred when another player landed on his leg during a 4-yard run by Stevenson. Campbell, a first-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, has been a central figure in protecting quarterback Drake Maye. His absence marks a significant blow to the offensive line, particularly given his history of knee issues, including an MCL tear sustained last season.

The loss of Henderson and Campbell continues a difficult trend for the Patriots, who have struggled with player availability throughout the campaign. The organization has already placed 19 players on injured reserve this season, a figure that has officially surpassed the 17 players sidelined for the entirety of the previous year. In response to the latest injuries, the coaching staff turned to depth options to fill the vacancies. First-year player Corey Kiner stepped in to replace Henderson in the backfield, while Caleb Lomu, another 2025 first-round pick, assumed duties at left tackle in place of Campbell.
