LAS VEGAS – In a thrilling overtime showdown at the 2026 NBA Summer League, the Orlando Magic triumphed over the Portland Trail Blazers with a final score of 112-105, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance by Lester Quinones. The young guard showcased his scoring prowess, finishing the game with a remarkable 30 points on 9-of-14 shooting, while also contributing eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Magic Rally from Behind

The game began with the Magic facing a challenging 33-22 deficit after the first quarter. However, the team regrouped and mounted a strong comeback, outscoring the Trail Blazers 48-38 in the second and third quarters. This effort allowed Orlando to enter the final quarter tied at 71, setting the stage for a dramatic finish. With just six seconds left in regulation, Keon Johnson's free throws forced the game into overtime, demonstrating the Magic's resilience and determination.

In the extra period, Orlando seized control early, racing to an 8-2 lead that ultimately secured their victory. The Magic's shooting was impressive throughout the game, as they recorded a shooting percentage of 55.4% overall, including a notable 48.0% from beyond the arc. Additionally, they dominated the paint, outscoring the Trail Blazers 48-26 in that area.

Strong Contributions from Teammates

Supporting Quinones in the scoring department was Colin Castleton, who added 21 points along with seven rebounds and two assists. Phillip Wheeler also made a significant impact with 18 points, while Johnson finished with 15 points, three assists, and two rebounds. TyTy Washington Jr. rounded out the contributions with a well-rounded performance, tallying 12 points, seven assists, six rebounds, and four steals.

On the opposing side, Jayson Kent led the Trail Blazers with 20 points and eight rebounds. Chris Youngblood and Quincy Olivari contributed 14 and 13 points, respectively, while Jaylen Martin and DJ Steward added 11 and 10 points, with Steward also recording five assists and four rebounds. The Trail Blazers, now 0-2 in the Summer League, will look to bounce back on Monday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, while the Magic, improving to 2-1, will face the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday afternoon.
