Indiana Pacers guard Ben Sheppard set for meniscus surgery

Indiana Pacers guard Ben Sheppard is set to undergo surgery this Wednesday to address a torn meniscus. The announcement was made by head coach Rick Carlisle shortly before the team’s contest against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday evening.

Sheppard, who stands 6-foot-6, has been sidelined since the Pacers' opening game of the season. He participated in the team's 123-120 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans but has not seen the court since that initial appearance. Last season, the guard contributed an average of 7.1 points per game across 65 appearances.

Injury updates across the Pacers roster

In addition to the news regarding Sheppard, coach Carlisle provided updates on other members of the squad dealing with physical setbacks. Center Ivica Zubac was spotted arriving at the Fiserv Forum without a walking boot, just one night after sustaining a left ankle sprain during the team's 136-109 win against the Brooklyn Nets.

While Carlisle noted that Zubac was walking with a slight limp, he did not provide a specific timeline for when the 7-footer might be cleared to return to action. The Pacers were also without the services of Andrew Nembhard for Monday night's game, as the guard was ruled out due to a back issue.
