The Indian Super League (ISL) has officially unveiled the schedule for the 2026-27 season, confirming that the campaign will commence on October 10. The opening day will feature a double-header, with Bengaluru FC set to host Sporting Club Delhi at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in the season opener at 5:00 PM IST.
Following the initial clash, the action moves to the Fatorda Stadium, where FC Goa will take on Chennaiyin FC in a 7:30 PM IST kickoff. These fixtures mark the beginning of a 13-team competition that includes Bengaluru FC, Chennaiyin FC, Churchill Brothers, East Bengal FC, FC Goa, Inter Kashi, Kerala Blasters FC, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, Mumbai City FC, NorthEast United FC, Odisha FC, Punjab FC, and Sporting Club Delhi.
League Structure and Key Fixtures
Phase 1 of the tournament is scheduled to run from October 10 through January 17, featuring a total of 78 matches. In response to fan feedback, the league has prioritized weekend scheduling, with 53 matches—representing 68% of the Phase 1 calendar—slated for Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. Most matches throughout the season will be held at either 5:00 PM or 7:30 PM IST.
The upcoming season introduces several notable developments, including the expansion of the league into Manipur. NorthEast United FC is scheduled to host Sporting Club Delhi at the Khuman Lampak Stadium in Imphal on November 24. Additionally, the Fatorda Stadium will host the first-ever ISL Goa Derby between Churchill Brothers and FC Goa on December 13.
Defending champions East Bengal FC will begin their title defense on October 18 against Churchill Brothers at the Fatorda Stadium, having been excused from opening week fixtures due to AFC commitments. The highly anticipated Kolkata Derby between East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant is set for November 29 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan.
International Break and Playoff Path
The league has accounted for the FIFA international window, scheduling a break from November 7 to November 20 to allow players to fulfill national team duties. Following the conclusion of the 78-match Phase 1, the top six teams in the standings will qualify for the playoffs. The league has confirmed that fixtures for Phase 2 and the subsequent playoff rounds will be announced at a later date.
While the majority of venues are set, the home ground for Inter Kashi remains to be confirmed and will be announced once the club finalizes its venue selection.
