The 2026-27 calendar introduces several notable additions to the league's competitive landscape. A significant highlight is the inaugural ISL Goa Derby, which will see Churchill Brothers face FC Goa at the Fatorda Stadium on December 13 at 7:30 PM IST. Furthermore, the league is set to expand its geographical reach by hosting a match in Manipur, where NorthEast United FC will play Sporting Club Delhi at the Khuman Lampak Stadium in Imphal on November 24, 2026.
Defending champions East Bengal FC are scheduled to begin their title defence on October 18 against Churchill Brothers at the Fatorda Stadium. Due to existing AFC commitments, the reigning champions will sit out the opening game week. Fans can also mark their calendars for the highly anticipated
League Structure and International Breaks
Phase 1 of the competition will run from October 10, 2026, through January 17, 2027, encompassing 78 matches. At the conclusion of this phase, the top six teams will secure their spots in the playoffs, with the schedule for Phase 2 and the subsequent knockout rounds to be released at a later date. The league has also accounted for the FIFA international window, scheduling a break from November 7 to November 20, 2026, to allow players to fulfill national team duties.
While the majority of venues are set, the league noted that the home ground for Inter Kashi remains subject to confirmation. As the ISL prepares for this expanded season, the focus remains on delivering a fan-centric experience through the strategic scheduling of weekend matches.
