FIFA has officially released the match schedule for the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup 2027, which will take place in Brazil. The announcement was made during a live draw event held at FIFA's headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, where the preliminary phase of the Women's World Cup 2027 Play-Off Tournament was also showcased. The tournament will feature a total of 64 matches spread across eight vibrant host cities.

Brazil's Opening Matches

The Brazilian national team is set to kick off their World Cup journey at the renowned Estadio do Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro on June 24. Following their opening match, Brazil will compete in their second group-stage game at Arena Itaquera in São Paulo on June 29. Their final group-stage encounter will take place at the Estadio Nacional in Brasilia on July 4, as they aim to advance to the knockout rounds.

Each of the eight host cities will host a minimum of seven matches, ensuring that fans across Brazil can engage with the tournament. Notably, cities such as Brasilia, Porto Alegre, Recife, and Salvador will be pivotal in hosting matches through the Round of 16. Meanwhile, Belo Horizonte and Fortaleza will join Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in hosting the quarter-finals.

Historic Venue and Fan Engagement

São Paulo is set to host one of the semi-finals as well as the Bronze Final, while the other semi-final and the championship match will be held at the iconic Maracanã Stadium. This venue will make history by becoming only the third stadium to host both a FIFA World Cup final and a FIFA Women's World Cup final, joining the ranks of Rasunda Stadium in Sweden and the Rose Bowl in the United States.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed his excitement about the tournament, stating, "We can't wait to witness a new chapter of women's football history unfold when the world's best players, coaches, fans, and local communities take center stage in Brazil next year." He emphasized the vibrant atmosphere that Brazilian fans are expected to bring to the event.

In addition to the matches, FIFA will organize Fan Festivals throughout Brazil, providing fans with opportunities to celebrate and engage with the tournament. The 2027 Women's World Cup promises to be a landmark event, showcasing the growth and passion for women's football on a global scale.
