Trajkovic leads the charge with the ball

Serbia Women delivered a clinical performance at the Lisicji Jarak Cricket Ground in Belgrade, restricting Bulgaria Women to a modest total before chasing it down with ease. After Bulgaria won the toss and elected to bat, the Serbian bowling attack immediately asserted dominance. Marija Trajkovic was the standout performer, dismantling the opposition lineup with a disciplined spell that returned figures of 3/19 from her four overs. Her ability to strike at key intervals ensured that Bulgaria never found the momentum required to build a competitive score.

Bulgaria struggled to find rhythm throughout their innings, finishing on 90/9 after their allotted 20 overs. Vili Nikolova provided the most resistance, top-scoring with 22 runs off 25 balls, while Detelina Ruynekova contributed 12 runs from 20 deliveries. Despite these efforts, the Serbian bowlers remained relentless, keeping the scoring rate in check and ensuring the target remained well within reach for the home side.

Stevanovic guides Serbia to successful chase

The Serbian reply did not start according to plan, as the team faced an early scare when Bojana Ercegovcevic fell for just one run in the opening over. With three wickets down early, the pressure was on the middle order to steady the ship and guide the team toward the 91-run target. Milica Stevanovic rose to the occasion, anchoring the innings with a composed and match-defining 37 off 35 balls. Her ability to rotate the strike and find the boundary when necessary proved vital in shifting the momentum back in Serbia's favour.

Supported by Dunja Demic, Stevanovic ensured that there were no further hiccups in the chase. The pair navigated the remainder of the innings with maturity, eventually steering Serbia to 94/3 to seal a seven-wicket victory. Alongside Trajkovic’s earlier heroics, the contributions of Katrin Srandeva were also noted as the team successfully navigated the pressure of the early collapse. The win serves as a significant result for Serbia Women in the ongoing Women's T20I Tri-Series, showcasing their ability to recover from early setbacks and execute a disciplined game plan under pressure.
