Daniel Louis dismantles Myanmar batting lineup

Qatar secured a clinical nine-wicket victory over Myanmar in Match 12 of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Sub Regional Qualifier A, held at the Selangor Turf Club in Kuala Lumpur. The result was set up by a devastating bowling display from Daniel Louis, who dismantled the Myanmar batting order to restrict them to a meager total.

After Myanmar captain won the toss and elected to bat, they struggled to find any momentum against a disciplined Qatar attack. The innings never gained traction, as the batters were unable to build meaningful partnerships. Htet Lin Oo top-scored for his side with 16 runs off 20 balls, while Aung Ko Ko provided minor resistance with 10 runs from 13 deliveries. The rest of the lineup faltered under pressure, finishing their allotted 20 overs at 55/9.

The standout performer of the day was undoubtedly Daniel Louis, whose four-over spell proved decisive. Louis claimed 4/6, consistently troubling the batters and ensuring that Myanmar had no opportunity to post a competitive total on the board.

Qatar makes light work of modest target

Chasing a target of 56 for victory, Qatar faced a minor early setback when Zeeshan Haider fell with the score at 12 in 1.5 overs. However, any hopes of a Myanmar fightback were quickly extinguished as the remaining batters settled in to finish the job with efficiency.

Zubair Ali anchored the chase with an aggressive 34 off 24 balls, ensuring the required run rate remained well within control. Supported by Shariq Munir, Qatar reached the target comfortably, finishing on 56/1 to seal a dominant win. The victory highlights Qatar's superior form in the tournament, with the team showing both the bowling discipline to restrict opponents and the batting depth to close out games quickly.
