Manish Pandey Returns to Karnataka Squad for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Manish Pandey is set for a potential return to competitive cricket after being included in the 34-member probables list for Karnataka ahead of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The experienced batter, who previously captained the state side, has not represented Karnataka since the conclusion of last season.

The T20 tournament is scheduled to commence on November 14. Pandey’s last appearance in a competitive fixture dates back to May, when he played for the Kolkata Knight Riders during their home match against the Delhi Capitals. While he has been included in the T20 squad preparations, he does not feature in the list of probables for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Hanuma Vihari Withdraws from Ranji Trophy Season

In other domestic cricket developments, India Test batter Hanuma Vihari has opted out of the remainder of Tripura’s Ranji Trophy campaign. The 33-year-old, who moved to Tripura from Andhra last season, participated in the team's opening match against Hyderabad but has been absent for their subsequent two fixtures.

Tripura coach Satrajit Lahiri confirmed the development following his side's defeat to Karnataka in Mysuru on Thursday. According to Lahiri, the decision stems from personal reasons. The state association is currently in the process of seeking approval from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to secure a replacement player for the remainder of the season.
