Dubai is set to welcome a host of new talent for the upcoming fifth season of the ILT20, with notable players
The six franchises finalized their foreign-player pre-auction signings on August 3, allowing each team to secure up to four players before the main auction. Several familiar faces will continue with their respective teams from Season 4. Jason Holder and Sunil Narine will remain with the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, while the defending champions, Desert Vipers, have retained Shimron Hetmyer. The Dubai Capitals have also opted to keep Rovman Powell and Mustafizur Rahman, while MI Emirates will see the return of Nicholas Pooran, Rashid Khan, and Romario Shepherd. Sikandar Raza will continue with the Sharjah Warriorz.

The Desert Vipers have also re-signed Andries Gous and Dan Lawrence, while the Gulf Giants have retained Azmatullah Omarzai and Blessing Muzarabani. Among other pre-auction signings, Afghanistan's Mujeeb-ur-Rahman will join the Desert Vipers after previously playing for the Dubai Capitals. Sherfane Rutherford is set to join MI Emirates, and Sharjah Warriorz have signed James Vince, Adam Milne, and Waqar Salamkheil. The Dubai Capitals have also added Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad, who played for the Desert Vipers last season.
