The enthusiastic support from the home crowd further enhanced her experience at the Championships. Sindhu described the emotional boost she felt walking onto the court to the cheers of thousands of fans. "It was really good to get out of the court, and I could see a lot of people cheering and supporting me. That gave me a lot of confidence," she said, emphasizing the importance of playing her game regardless of her opponent.
In her match against Noble, ranked 141st, Sindhu showcased her skills by quickly establishing an 8-0 lead in the first game, ultimately winning 21-7. Although Noble put up a stronger fight in the second game, Sindhu maintained control, finishing the match in 29 minutes by winning 10 of the next 13 points.
Reflecting on her performance, Sindhu acknowledged the nerves that can accompany a first match but expressed satisfaction with her ability to settle into the contest. "I think today I started well. I started with a big lead... So, I think it was a good start for me, and I was comfortable throughout," she noted.
Looking ahead, Sindhu remains focused on her immediate goals, stating, "Right now, the medal is quite far away. For me, it's just one match at a time. I have to give 100% in every match." She is set to face Canada's World No. 49 Wen Yu Zhang in the Round of 32.
