A quartet of thoroughbreds caught the eye during Monday morning’s training sessions on August 31, as Sindoor, Akitania, Royal Legacy and Moon Star all delivered notable performances. The horses were put through their paces on the outer sand track, with each displaying promising form during their respective gallops.
Among the standout performers, Akitania, ridden by Ritesh G, moved with significant attraction over 1000m, clocking 1-10 with a final 600m split of 41 seconds. Royal Legacy, under D. Patel, also produced a fine display over 1200m, finishing in 1-27 with a 1000m split of 1-10 and a final 600m in 41.5 seconds. Similarly, Moon Star, with Shinde in the saddle, pleased onlookers with a 1200m effort timed at 1-25, covering the final 600m in 42 seconds. Sindoor, partnered by Aleemuddin, completed the group of notable performers, moving fluently over 1200m in 1-30.5, with the last 600m recorded at 41 seconds.
Additional track work observations
The morning session also featured several other horses demonstrating solid preparation. Over the 1400m distance, Solana, guided by Ritesh G, moved impressively, clocking 1-45.5 and covering the final 600m in 43 seconds. Yukan, ridden by Shreyas, also showed good movement on the inner sand track, completing 1400m in 1-39 with a final 600m split of 40 seconds.
On the outer sand, Star Comet (Reza) and Breathtaking (D. Patel) both strode out well, each recording a time of 42 seconds for their 600m work. Other horses to work well included Black Rainstorm, who clocked 44 seconds over 600m, and Count Basie, who finished his 600m effort in 44.5 seconds. Mystic Dew also shaped well, completing the 600m distance in 43 seconds.
In the 1000m gallops, El Rey, partnered with D. Patel, showed promise by clocking 1-16.5, finishing the final 600m in 43 seconds alongside Lone Ranger. Meanwhile, Bhagya, Sassy Sarah, and Idi Minnal were kept to easier work, recording times of 46, 46.5, and 45 seconds respectively over 600m. War Queen was eased up during her 1400m exercise, clocking 1-47, while Virtuous showed good form on the inner sand with a 600m time of 39 seconds.
