Trainer K.S.V. Prasad Raju dominates the day
It proved to be a highly successful afternoon for trainer K.S.V. Prasad Raju, who saddled three winners across the eight-race card. Beyond the feature event victory with Racing Ruler, Prasad Raju also celebrated wins with Evansville in the Twin Cities Plate and La Quinta in the Nagarkurnool Plate.
Evansville, ridden by Akshay Kumar, dominated the 1,800-metre Twin Cities Plate, finishing 4-1/2 lengths clear of Aakarshaka. Later in the day, La Quinta continued the trainer's momentum by winning the 1,400-metre Nagarkurnool Plate by 2-3/4 lengths, with Akshay Kumar again in the saddle.
Additional race highlights
The day featured several other notable performances across the divisions. In the Nalgonda Plate (Div. I), Lion’s Pride, trained by Raza Shehzad and ridden by R.N. Darshan, lived up to its status as the favourite, winning by 1-1/4 lengths. The second division of the same plate saw N R I Royal Power, trained by D. Netto and ridden by Afroz Khan, secure a victory.
The Major Mir Mujtaba Hussain Memorial Trophy was split into two divisions. In the first, Torchbearer, ridden by Kuldeep Singh Jr. and trained by L.V.R. Deshmukh, claimed the win. The second division was taken by Dyanoosh, ridden by Sonu Kumar and trained by M.F. Ali Khan. Finally, the Noble Quest Plate was won by Reigning Beauty, trained by Neelesh Rawal and ridden by Md. Ismail, in a close finish that saw the winner prevail by a head.
