The morning session featured a mix of routine gallops and gate practice, providing a comprehensive look at the current condition of the stable runners. While many horses focused on maintaining their rhythm, several individuals demonstrated notable acceleration and poise, suggesting they are hitting their stride at an opportune time.
Strong displays on the outer sand
On the outer sand track, Osaka, ridden by D. Patel, produced a commendable display over 1000m, clocking 1:11 with a final 600m split of 41 seconds. Similarly, Desert Shield, with Sachin in the saddle, moved with fluidity and attraction, covering the same distance in 1:13.5. These efforts were complemented by The Archer, who showed great fluency over 1400m, finishing in 1:40.5 with a 600m sectional of 44 seconds.
Other notable performances on the outer sand included Magnus, who impressed over 1400m with a time of 1:44, and Money Bags, who looked in fine condition during an extended 1400m gallop on the inner sand, stopping the clock at 1:37. Gold Mist and Charlie Brown also drew praise for their work on the inner sand, both showing sharp form over the 1000m distance.
Gate practice highlights
The morning concluded with a series of gate practice sessions on the inner sand, where several horses showcased their readiness for race-day starts. Mister Brown, partnered with Antony, finished a distance ahead of Augusto after a 1200m jump, recording a time of 1:20. In another eye-catching trial, Arc Of Life and Supreme Success were the standout performers among a group of three, completing their 1200m jump in 1:21.
Supernal also left a positive impression, jumping smartly to clock 1:22 for the 1200m distance. Meanwhile, the pair of Deep Respect and Shining Ways displayed good coordination with a smart jump, also finishing in 1:22. The session provided valuable insights into the starting capabilities of the horses, with most runners showing a clean and responsive break from the gates.
