Krystallos emerged as the surprise winner of the Taj Mahal Plate, the headline event during Monday’s race meeting on October 12. Entering the race as a 10-to-1 longshot, the horse defied the odds to secure a victory, finishing the 1,600-metre contest in 1m, 39.40s. Ridden by P. Sai Kumar, the winner is trained by L.V.R. The victory saw Krystallos finish 5-1/4 lengths ahead of the favourite, Secret Saint, who was ridden by P. Trevor. Noble Heart, with Afroz K in the saddle, claimed third place, while Dapper Look finished fourth. The win provided a significant upset for punters, with the horse returning ₹53 for a win.

Sequeira dominates the card

While Krystallos claimed the main event, trainer R.H. Sequeira enjoyed a highly successful day, saddling three winners across the race card. His success began in the Nawab Mehdi Jung Bahadur Memorial Trophy (1,100m), where Vital Sign, ridden by Vikram Singh, secured a win. Sequeira’s momentum continued in the 2,000-metre Saddle Up Plate, with Concordia taking the honours under B.R. Kumar, and he completed his hat-trick in the 1,100-metre Nizamabad Plate, where N R I Crypto Power, piloted by P. Trevor, crossed the line first.
