Jaguars Face Historic Road Odyssey Amid Stadium Renovations

The Jacksonville Jaguars are embarking on a unique logistical challenge that will see the franchise play 26 of their next 30 regular-season games away from EverBank Stadium. This extended period of travel is a direct consequence of a $1.4 billion renovation project currently underway at their home facility, which began following the team's playoff exit in January. The ambitious schedule will force the team to navigate a nomadic existence, including home games in Orlando at Camping World Stadium during the 2027 season.

By the conclusion of the 2026 regular season, the Jaguars are projected to become the first NFL team since the 1926 Duluth Eskimos to play in 12 or more stadiums within a single campaign. Despite the daunting nature of this travel-heavy itinerary, head coach Liam Coen has adopted a resilient “anywhere, anytime, anybody” mantra, insisting that the team will not use their circumstances as a justification for performance issues.

International Commitments and Road Mentality

The Jaguars' road-heavy schedule includes a significant international component, starting with back-to-back designated home games in London. The team is set to face the Philadelphia Eagles at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this Sunday, followed by a matchup against the Houston Texans at Wembley Stadium on October 18. These appearances mark the 15th and 16th times the franchise has played in London since 2013, a figure that far exceeds any other NFL team.

For punter Logan Cooke, the trip to London represents a personal milestone, as he is set to appear in his 10th international game, establishing a new NFL record. While the travel demands are substantial, players remain focused on maintaining their professional routines. Center Robert Hainsey noted that the team’s process-oriented approach helps mitigate the disruption, as the consistency of their schedule allows them to treat each away game with the same preparation as a home fixture.

Focusing on Results Amid Disruption

Coach Coen has been transparent with his squad regarding the reality of their situation, emphasizing that the league and fans will ultimately judge the team solely by their win-loss record. While the team has experienced success on the road recently—winning five of their last six away games—the upcoming stretch remains a significant test of their mental fortitude. With five of their next six games scheduled away from Jacksonville, the team is prioritizing their on-field performance over the logistical hurdles.

The renovation of EverBank Stadium, which is being funded by both the city and the team, has already necessitated a 34-day break from home games earlier this season. As the Jaguars continue to navigate this extended period of transition, the players appear determined to maintain their focus, viewing the frequent travel as simply another aspect of their professional responsibilities.
