Disney+ to Stream Super Bowl LXI in Landmark Broadcast Expansion

The Walt Disney Company has confirmed a major expansion for its upcoming Super Bowl coverage, announcing that the broadcast of Super Bowl LXI will be available to stream on Disney+. The championship game, scheduled for February 14, 2027, will be accessible to subscribers through the platform, marking a significant step in the integration of live sports into the streaming service.

This initiative will see Disney+ carry the primary broadcast from ABC, as well as the Spanish-language telecast provided by ESPN Deportes within the United States. The inclusion of the Spanish-language feed continues a long-standing tradition of offering multi-language coverage for the event, which has been a staple of U.S. television broadcasts since 2014.

Global Reach and Expanded Streaming Strategy

Beyond the domestic audience, the reach of the broadcast will be extensive. Disney+ is set to stream the game across 55 international markets, including regions such as Brazil, Latin America, the Caribbean, South Africa, and Australia/New Zealand. Furthermore, the feed is slated to be carried across more than 130 countries and territories via various linear platforms, ensuring a wide global footprint for the event.

The move to stream the Super Bowl on Disney+ is part of a broader strategy to increase the presence of live sports on the platform. As a precursor to the Super Bowl coverage, Disney+ will also host two Monday Night Football games during the current season. This includes the October 26 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles, with a second contest to be confirmed at a later date.

Super Bowl LXI represents a notable milestone for the network, as it will be the first time the company produces and carries the championship game since the current rights agreement began. Additionally, the game will be broadcast on ABC for the first time since 2006. With the event still on the horizon, the commercial demand has already proven to be exceptionally high, as The Walt Disney Company announced in August that all advertising inventory for the broadcast has been completely sold out.
