Since making her debut for the senior national team at just 17 years old, Lalremsiami has established herself as a key player, contributing to India’s success in various international competitions, including two Asian Games podium finishes and a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games. With an impressive tally of 65 goals in 208 appearances, her journey from Kolasib, a lesser-known district in Mizoram, to the international stage is a testament to her dedication and hard work.
Building a Stronger Team
As India currently ranks ninth in the world, Lalremsiami acknowledges the challenges faced by the team, especially following the departure of several senior players after the Olympics. She believes that the team is gradually finding its footing again. “It took time for the team to rebuild. We are slowly building the team. Now Sjoerd [Marijne] is back and he has a lot of faith in the team. He has instilled positive qualities in the team,” she remarked, highlighting the renewed sense of optimism within the squad.
