Ranjit Bajaj Changes Stance on India U-15 Football Team Position, Imposes Major Condition

Ranjit Bajaj has expressed his willingness to assume a leadership role with the Indian U-15 football team, provided he is the sole individual in charge. This statement comes after his earlier refusal to accept the position of team manager, which he attributed to a conflict with head coach Bibiano Fernandes ahead of the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival scheduled for October in Azerbaijan.

In a recent video shared on his Instagram account, Bajaj articulated his concerns regarding the compatibility of coaching philosophies. He emphasized that two coaches with fundamentally different approaches would struggle to collaborate effectively. Furthermore, he revealed that Fernandes has also opted out of the role, reinforcing Bajaj's readiness to step in and lead the team.

“I learned from a reliable source and a newspaper article that Bibiano has also declined the position, citing the same reasons I have mentioned. A competent coach would not want to undermine their own team,” Bajaj stated. He underscored the importance of a unified vision in coaching, asserting that conflicting philosophies could hinder the team's success.

Bajaj's Commitment to Future Goals

Bajaj remains optimistic about the opportunity, stating, “It’s still not too late if Bibiano is not going to be there. If you think this is all just drama, then ask around. I dedicate my time to one goal: every decision I make is aimed at helping us reach the 2034 World Cup and the 2036 Olympics.” His determination to contribute positively to the team is evident, as he added, “If I get this role, I will work even harder.”

Since the All India Football Federation (AIFF) appointed Bajaj as the U-15 team manager, there have been significant developments. Initially, he expressed dissatisfaction with the decision, firmly rejecting the offer. “People are congratulating me, but I am not happy. I am very unhappy. This is the worst thing they could have done,” he remarked in a previous Instagram post. He clarified that while he has no personal issues with Fernandes, the disparity in their coaching styles and visions poses a significant challenge.
