AIFF Announces India's Involvement in FIFA ASEAN Cup and Upcoming Friendly Match Against Brazil

In a significant development for Indian football, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has confirmed that the national men's team will participate in both the FIFA ASEAN Cup and a friendly match against Brazil, despite earlier concerns regarding scheduling conflicts. Reports had suggested that the team might withdraw from the ASEAN Cup due to the overlap with the friendly, which is set to take place during the International Match Window. However, following a meeting of the AIFF's executive committee, it was decided that the team would compete in both events.

The AIFF's decision comes after discussions highlighted the importance of the friendly match against Brazil, a team recognized as one of the best in the world. The federation has faced financial challenges since its agreement with Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) for an annual payment of Rs 50 crore expired in December 2025.
