Tournament Structure and Format
The FIFA U15 World Cup and Festival is a massive undertaking, featuring 191 national teams from across the globe divided into 32 groups. The event is designed to be highly intensive, with a total of 943 matches scheduled to be played across 20 pitches over six competition days. The matches will follow a specific 8v8 format, consisting of two 20-minute halves and a five-minute interval. To maintain a fast pace, the pitch dimensions are set at 68 metres by 50 metres, and teams will be permitted to use rolling substitutions throughout the duration of each match.
India's Schedule in Baku
The Indian contingent is scheduled to arrive in Azerbaijan on October 22, with an official training session planned for the following day. The qualification stage is set to be a rigorous test, with India playing five matches in just three days at the Hovsan Competition Complex.
The campaign begins on October 24 with a fixture against Laos. The intensity increases on October 25, when the team will play two matches, facing Cameroon and Grenada respectively. The qualification phase concludes on October 26 with another double-header against Bahrain and Senegal. Following a rest day on October 27, the tournament will progress to the main stage on October 28 and 29, culminating in the tier finals on October 30.
