Ferran Torres Hat-Trick Leads PSG to Dominant Champions League Win Over Slovan Bratislava

Paris Saint-Germain began their pursuit of a third consecutive Champions League title in emphatic fashion, dismantling Slovan Bratislava 6-1 at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday. The French giants dominated the encounter from the outset, with Ferran Torres and Ousmane Dembele delivering standout performances to secure a comfortable opening victory in the league phase.

The result was never in doubt as PSG’s superior quality overwhelmed the Slovakian champions. Dembele, the current Ballon d’Or holder, set the tone early by netting two goals before the 30-minute mark. His clinical display provided the foundation for a one-sided contest, as the hosts moved through the gears to dismantle the visiting defence with relative ease.

Torres Takes Centre Stage in Emphatic Victory

While Dembele provided the initial spark, Ferran Torres was the primary beneficiary of the team's attacking fluidity. After Dembele opened the scoring in the 17th minute following a Nuno Mendes effort that hit the post, he doubled his tally with a header from a deflected Dro Fernandez strike. Torres then got on the scoresheet before the interval, converting a cross from Dembele to establish a 3-0 lead.

The former Barcelona forward continued his clinical form after the break, adding two more goals to complete his hat-trick. His second of the night followed a driving run from Maghnes Akliouche, while his third came courtesy of a Dembele corner. Although Suleiman Camara managed to pull a goal back for Slovan Bratislava with a stylish finish, Fabian Ruiz added a late sixth to restore the five-goal margin.

Looking Ahead to Tougher Tests

Reflecting on the performance, Torres expressed satisfaction with the team's intensity and pressing, noting that while a hat-trick was beyond his expectations, the collective effort was the priority. The forward acknowledged that the squad must now turn their attention to domestic matters, as PSG are still seeking their first Ligue 1 victory of the season.

Managed by Yaya Toure, Slovan Bratislava struggled to contain the hosts throughout the match, marking a difficult start to their campaign after a winless run in the previous season's league phase. For PSG, the focus now shifts to a challenging October schedule, which includes high-profile fixtures against Manchester City and Barcelona. These upcoming matches will serve as a more rigorous test of their ambition to join the elite group of clubs that have secured three successive European titles.
