Bournemouth Maintain Perfect Europa League Record as AC Milan Struggle

Bournemouth continued their impressive run in the Europa League on Thursday, securing a fourth straight victory with a 3-1 comeback win against 10-man Sparta Prague. Despite falling behind early in the Czech Republic to a brilliant individual effort from Ebrima Singhateh, the Premier League side demonstrated their resilience to maintain a perfect record in the competition.

The visitors initially struggled to find their rhythm, compounded by midfielder Lewis Cook hitting the post with a first-half penalty. However, the momentum shifted significantly when Sparta’s Tobias Guddal was sent off before the interval. Bournemouth capitalised on the numerical advantage in the second half, with Tyler Adams levelling the score in the 57th minute before late goals from Evanilson and Rayan sealed the result.

AC Milan and Other European Results

While Bournemouth celebrated, Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan faced a difficult night at the San Siro, suffering a 2-0 defeat to Ferencvaros. Despite the visitors having Bamidele Yusuf dismissed, a second-half brace from Haiti international Lenny Joseph condemned the seven-time European champions to their third loss in four matches. Amorim expressed his frustration following the result, describing the performance as poor and noting that his side made significant errors.

Elsewhere in the competition, Benfica moved to the top of the standings on goal difference after a 3-1 victory over Lech Poznan, with Rafa Silva, Gianluca Prestianni, and Georgiy Sudakov finding the net. Bayer Leverkusen’s perfect start came to an end with a 1-0 home loss to Marseille, while Crystal Palace salvaged a late 1-1 draw against Hoffenheim thanks to a stoppage-time equaliser from Daichi Kamada. Sunderland’s unbeaten run in Europe was halted by a 2-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb, and Celtic secured their first points of the campaign with a 3-2 win against Besiktas, highlighted by two goals from substitute Camilo Duran.
