Aston Villa’s pursuit of a third consecutive Premier League victory was stalled on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Fulham at Villa Park. The hosts took the lead through Nicolas Jackson, but a second-half error from goalkeeper Zion Suzuki allowed the visitors to secure a share of the points.

The match began with an early opportunity for Unai Emery’s side to seize control after Sander Berge was penalised for handball inside the box. However, captain John McGinn could not convert the resulting spot-kick, with his effort striking the woodwork to keep the scoreline level. Despite the setback, Villa eventually broke the deadlock in the 39th minute when Jackson finished a well-constructed attacking move involving Johan Manzambi.

Fulham Fight Back to Claim Point

Fulham, who saw Gonzalo Garcia play a prominent role in their attacking efforts throughout the contest, returned from the interval with renewed intensity. Their persistence was rewarded when an Alex Iwobi corner caused chaos in the Villa penalty area. Goalkeeper Zion Suzuki misjudged the flight of the ball, inadvertently spilling it into his own net to bring the visitors level.

Following the equaliser, Fulham successfully absorbed a period of late pressure from the home side to ensure they left with a point. The result sees Aston Villa climb to ninth place in the Premier League table, while Fulham move up to 15th position.

Tottenham Extend Winning Run Against Palace

In other Premier League action, Tottenham Hotspur continued their positive momentum with a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace. The visitors faced an uphill battle from the 13th minute after Jean-Philippe Mateta was dismissed with a straight red card for a challenge on Micky van de Ven.

Tottenham capitalised on their numerical advantage, with Archie Gray finding the net midway through the first half. Jan Paul van Hecke added a second goal after the break to seal the win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The victory moves Spurs up to eighth in the standings, while Crystal Palace remain in 18th place.
