With the automatic qualification phase for the 2027 ICC Men's ODI World Cup concluding during the first two matches of this series, the West Indies are already looking ahead to the qualification tournament scheduled for next year. Sammy noted that facing the world’s top-ranked side in both formats provides a vital benchmark for his players. Regarding the T20I squad, the coach emphasized the goal of building on recent momentum from the series victory against Sri Lanka to establish a core group for the next T20 World Cup cycle.
The touring party is scheduled to depart the Caribbean on September 21, arriving in Thiruvananthapuram on September 23 to begin final preparations. The full ODI squad includes Shai Hope, Jewel Andrew, John Campbell, Keacy Carty, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, Justin Greaves, Amir Jangoo, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Vitel Lawes, Gudakesh Motie, Keemo Paul, Sherfane Rutherford, and Jayden Seales.
