Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal Reconcile Following Engagement Split

Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and actor-influencer Akriti Agarwal have reconciled their relationship, just weeks after announcing the end of their engagement. The couple, who initially got engaged in March 2026, confirmed their reunion through a public statement released by Agarwal on Monday.

In a post titled A personal clarification, Agarwal addressed the circumstances surrounding their brief separation. She admitted that the decision to call off the engagement in September was heavily influenced by the opinions of those close to her, rather than the reality of their partnership. She expressed regret for allowing external voices to dictate her perspective on the relationship and acknowledged that the couple had not engaged in the necessary honest dialogue before parting ways.

Moving Forward and Career Focus

Following their reconciliation, Agarwal stated that the pair have since held the conversations they previously lacked, leading to a better mutual understanding. She took full responsibility for the distress caused by the initial breakup and requested that the public respect their privacy as they move forward together. Shaw, the 26-year-old cricketer, signaled his support for the statement by sharing it on his own social media platform.

While navigating his personal life, Shaw remains focused on his professional cricket career. After leading India to the Under-19 World Cup title in 2018 and marking his Test debut with a century against the West Indies, the batter has faced challenges with injuries and form. Seeking a fresh start, he transferred from Mumbai to Maharashtra ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season, where he notably scored 222 against Chandigarh in the Ranji Trophy.

The cricketer has maintained a positive start to the 2026-27 domestic campaign. Most recently, he contributed 70 runs off 73 balls for Maharashtra during a match against Services in New Delhi this past Sunday, as he continues his efforts to regain a place in the national setup.
