De Leede and De Lange anchor Netherlands' massive total

The Netherlands produced a clinical batting display at the ICC Academy in Dubai, setting a formidable target of 372 for Oman in their ICC CWC League 2 encounter. After Oman won the toss and elected to bowl, the Dutch lineup took full advantage of the conditions, posting 371/5 from their allotted 50 overs. The foundation of the innings was a spectacular performance from Bas de Leede, who anchored the side with a blistering 145 off just 110 balls. His aggressive approach was perfectly complemented by Cedric de Lange, who contributed a composed 102 from 91 deliveries. While Oman’s Aryan Bisht managed to stem the flow of runs at times, finishing with respectable figures of 2/32 from his seven overs, the Netherlands’ top order proved too difficult to contain as they piled on the pressure throughout the first half of the match.

Oman chase falters after early collapse

Facing a daunting target of 372, Oman’s pursuit never truly gained the necessary momentum. The innings suffered an immediate setback with an early wicket, and the pressure continued to mount as the required run rate climbed. A critical turning point occurred when Jeet Shah fell with the score at 35 in the 9th over, effectively stalling any hopes of a recovery. Despite a spirited 77 off 46 balls from Zikria Islam and support from Jatinder Singh, the task proved too steep against a disciplined Dutch bowling attack. With Zach Lion-Cachet and Aryan Dutt providing key contributions with the ball, the Netherlands dismantled the Oman lineup, bowling them out for 265. The 106-run victory was a comprehensive statement, with Bas de Leede rightfully named Player of the Match for his match-defining century.
