The International League T20 (
Fordham is a familiar face within the organization, having served as the league’s Head of Operations since the tournament’s inception in 2022. With over 20 years of experience in sports administration, his background spans commercial development, governance, and the management of various leagues and franchises. He will now be responsible for steering the league through the preparations and execution of its fifth season, which is scheduled to take place across November and December.
Leadership Transition and Tournament Outlook
The leadership change follows the exit of David White, who joined the ILT20 in September 2023. During his three-year tenure, White was instrumental in guiding the league through its first three completed seasons, helping to cement its status as a prominent T20 competition on the global stage, second only to the Indian Premier League in terms of profile.
Reflecting on his new responsibilities, Fordham expressed his commitment to the upcoming campaign. In a statement, he described the appointment as a significant honor and emphasized his focus on the successful delivery of the fifth season. He also pointed toward the ILT20 Development Tournament as a vital component of the league’s strategy, serving as a dedicated pathway for emerging UAE talent to earn their place in the main competition.
The upcoming season will feature six teams competing across 34 matches at three different venues in the United Arab Emirates. As the league prepares for the new campaign, attention is currently focused on the player auction, which is expected to finalize the squad compositions for all participating franchises. Fordham noted that the auction has already drawn interest from several of the most recognizable names in the T20 format, setting the stage for a competitive tournament later this year.
