A timely return to action
The announcement coincides with the first anniversary of one of the most significant performances in her career: an unbeaten 127 against Australia during the 2025 Women's ODI World Cup semi-final at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. That innings, which remains the highest individual score by an Indian woman in an ODI chase, was instrumental in helping India overcome a target of 339.
During that memorable semi-final, Rodrigues joined captain Harmanpreet Kaur—who contributed 89 runs—to forge a 167-run partnership for the third wicket after the team lost both openers early. Despite facing pressure, including a dropped catch by Australian captain Alyssa Healy when she was on 82 and a narrow escape from an lbw review, Rodrigues remained composed to guide India to victory with nine balls remaining. The performance notably ended Australia’s streak of 15 consecutive wins in Women's ODI World Cups.
Looking ahead to the upcoming season
With her rehabilitation now complete, Rodrigues is eyeing a return to competitive play. She is eligible to feature for Mumbai in the ongoing Senior Women's T20 Trophy as she builds match fitness. Looking further ahead, she is expected to be in contention for the Indian women's team's upcoming multi-format tour of South Africa, scheduled for December.
