Ishan Kishan returns as India make two changes for fourth T20I against New Zealand

India have opted for a tactical shuffle ahead of the fourth T20I against New Zealand at Eden Park, welcoming back wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan and fast bowler Mayank Yadav. The visitors, who have already secured the five-match series with an unassailable 3-0 lead, are looking to maintain their momentum and push for a 4-0 advantage in Auckland.

The return of Kishan comes at the expense of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who finds himself out of the starting XI despite a promising 45-run cameo off just 19 deliveries in the previous encounter. Sooryavanshi had stepped into the side for the second and third matches while Kishan recovered from an injury. In the bowling department, the experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been rested, with Mayank Yadav drafted in to bolster the pace attack.

Toss and team news at Eden Park

India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to field first, citing the presence of grass on the pitch as a factor that could assist his bowlers with bounce and seam movement. While the series result is already decided, Iyer emphasised that the team remains focused on the task at hand, aiming to finish the tour on a high note.

New Zealand, desperate to halt their losing streak, also made a change to their lineup. Kyle Jamieson has been omitted, with Nathan Smith coming into the side to provide a fresh option for the hosts. The Black Caps will be hoping that the conditions at Eden Park allow them to challenge the Indian batting lineup more effectively than they have in the opening three fixtures.

The Indian XI for this match features Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Tilak Varma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Naman Dhir, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Mayank Yadav, and Prince Yadav. New Zealand have countered with a side led by Mitchell Santner, including Finn Allen, Tim Seifert, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Bevon Jacobs, Michael Bracewell, Nathan Smith, Adam Milne, Jacob Duffy, and Matthew Fisher.
