By crossing the 200-run threshold, Kishan became only the fifth player in the history of the Duleep Trophy to score a double century in a final. This exclusive club features some of the most prominent names in Indian domestic cricket. The list of previous double-centurions in the final includes Raman Lamba, who scored 320 against West Zone in 1987-88, and Anshuman Gaekwad, who recorded 216 against North Zone in the same season. More recently, Cheteshwar Pujara posted an unbeaten 256 against India Red in 2016-17, followed by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 209 against South Zone in 2022-23.
Kishan’s dominance continued well beyond his double century. He eventually finished with a commanding 250 runs off 301 balls. His innings was defined by a prolific display of stroke play, featuring 27 boundaries and seven sixes. The knock came to an end when he was retired hurt, leaving the field to a standing ovation from his East Zone teammates after a memorable display of batting prowess against Tilak Varma's side.
